Shandong Ruyi to Set up 2 Coal Powered Plants in Pakistan
A delegation of Shandong Ruyi Group of China met Punjab CM Mr Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Tuesday and expressed interest in investment in energy, mining and textile sectors in the province.
The delegation included Senior Vice President Ruyi Group Mr Jerry Liu, Executive President Mr Arie Qiu, Vice President Ms Li Aiying, Executive Director Mr Zhang Liuzhang and CEO Mr Masood Textile Shahid Nazir. Provincial Minister for Minerals Mr Sher Ali Khan, Minister for Industry Mr Chaudhary Muhammad Shafique, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Energy, Secretary Minerals, Chairman Punjab Investment Board and other officers concerned were present.
Mr Sharif said that the confidence of foreign investors is increasing due to the policies of Pakistan Muslim League-N government led by PM Mr Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and various companies of China and other countries have expressed willingness to invest in energy and other sectors in Pakistan.
He said that all out measures are being taken for resolving energy crisis.
He added that agreement has been reached between Punjab Minerals Department and Chinese group for setting up two coal power plants of 135 MW in Salt Range for which local coal will be used.
He welcomed the interest taken by Ruyi Group of China for investment in energy, mining and textile sectors and assured that all out facilities would be provided to Chinese investors.
He further added that Punjab government is setting up an apparel park for the development of textile and garments sectors. He said that government will welcome cooperation of Chinese group for the establishment of apparel park and garments zone.
